I WISH CANCER NEVER EXISTED

Cancer.

Even the word brings chills to me.
It is truly devastating.
It sucks.
I wish it never exsisted.
It scares everyone and kills many people before their time.

An extremely close family friend was recently diagnosed with liver cancer just before he was about to recieve a kidney transplant. (It turns out his wife was a perfect match and was donating hers.) During the testings before the transplant, they found the cancer and now, about 2 months later, it has spread and he is in the hospital. He is only in his 40's.

We got the call today that it wasn't looking good. My mom cried and rushed to the hospital.

Feeling helpless to such a terrifying disease, I wish him, his wife and children all the comfort and love in the world, for I know this is the most difficult experience they have ever lived through.

GRR, Cancer thoroughly sucks.

Flowers Spring and Sunshine

Wow, the past couple weeks have been absolutely beautiful outside! 60 degree sunshiney weather in March?..That's absolutely unheard of in Upstate NY! I think it was just a tease because now were back to gloomy rainy coldness...joy.

I have been totally obsessed with flowers since the sun came out...Yesterday I bought a beautiful white Orchid for our apartment, and potted Daffodils. Something about them just makes you simply happy :)

And, about a week ago I went to Woodfern florist for a wedding consultation. Let me just say I am THRILLED with the image and flower choices we made for our wedding.

Here's what I chose:

My bouquet:
White Gerbera Daisies w/black centers & a single rhinestone in the middle
Hot pink Orchids
Rhinestone Sprays
Black ribbon with thin silver and white ribbon braided around the stems

Girls Bouquets:
3 Hot pink Gerberas
Rhinestone Sprays
Silver and black ribbon braiding

Flower Girl:
1 Hot pink Gerbera
Rhinestone sprays
Silver and black ribbon braiding

Boys:
Fuschia Orchids with a silver leaf

LOVES IT ;)
and if you don't know gerbs or orchids...I posted pics on the top of the blog

On an end note: I just heard a gross statement on the news, possible snowflakes. I can't wait for the sun to come back out...I am impatiently waiting...

Happy Birthday, to me!

Today is my 22nd birthday. Is it sad that I'm no where near as excited as I used to get for my Birthday??! I guess the fun milestones have passed...

16 years old you learn to drive, get your permit and your license, maybe a car if your lucky. My first car was a 1996 red Jeep Grand Cherokee, I named him Millsy :)

18 years old you are officially "an adult." You can vote and buy cigarettes, oh, and get into or buy rated R movies too, I think.

21 years old you are legal to drink! Bring on the party.

22...........................yeah........I'd say it is pretty blah! I don't like getting older! Next thing I know I'll be looking at 30, 40, 50.

But one thing is for sure, I am happy to be alive and celebrate with my family, of course Olive Garden and the cookie cake helps too... ;)
